Managers decide which alerts people in the organization cannot turn off. Everyone else still chooses the rest on My Notifications.
Who can change this
Managers and Billing users. Open the gear icon, then Organization Settings, then the Notifications tab.
The tab is there when the organization has alerts that can be required: medication tracking, incident reports, or Time & EVV (Scheduling or EVV turned on).
The page is titled Team Notification Rules. Changes save as you go and are recorded in the Compliance Log.
Setting a rule
Open an alert. The table lists Managers, Staff, and Guests, with a column for each channel that alert uses (Email, Push, In-app).
Each cell is one of:
- Their choice — that person decides on My Notifications
- Required — locked on. They see Required, and pausing the channel does not stop it
- On unless they turn it off
- Off unless they turn it on
The last two set the starting state. The menu includes the one that differs from the built-in default.
You only see alerts your plan includes. The ones that can be required are:
- Missed medication
- Refused or changed dose
- Review assigned to you
- Feedback on your report
- You passed 40 hours this week
- Service code hours running low
- Service code mileage running low
You passed 40 hours this week, Service code hours running low, and Service code mileage running low start as Required for Staff and Guests on Push and In-app, until a manager changes them. Hour and mileage caps for a profile are set on Billing Details. See Profile Billing Details and authorized hours.
Shift-based medication alerts
Under Medication (MAR), Shift-based medication alerts appears when the organization uses Scheduling or EVV.
People can limit Missed medication and Refused or changed dose to Only profiles I'm on shift for. Someone counts as on shift when they are assigned to a published shift for the profile, or clocked in for it, around the time of the dose.
- Minutes before and after a shift that still count — 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes
- Alert everyone when nobody is on shift — if nobody is on shift for the profile at that time, people who limited alerts to their shifts receive it too
Common questions
- A staff member says they cannot turn an alert off. — That cell is Required. Set it to Their choice when they should be able to turn it off.
- I don't see the Notifications tab. — It shows for Managers and Billing users when the organization has a lockable alert, or Scheduling or EVV is on.
- Does this replace what I already chose for myself? — Required overrides your own switch. Their choice leaves what you already picked.
